Empee: What would you have become if you were not a musician?
Sieb: I am a qualified analyst. But that is not really my line. I would not mind being a journalist if I was not doing this.
Empee: What kind of image would you like to portray?
Sieb: I don't care about images. The only one I'd like to portray is that of a drummer.
Empee: What do you think of the girls during a stage show?
Sieb: It is fantastic when they are enthusiastic. You see, those hysterical goings-on of a few years ago are long gone.
Empee: What do you think of the Dutch record companies?
Sieb: I think they are too passive. A company has to think forward with its artists. I think that the producers in the Netherlands do not think creatively enough. Luckily Freddy Haayen and Hans van Wemert are the exception. It is enjoyable working with them.
Empee: What do you think of marriage?
Sieb: I prefer to wait a while. The time that you should not be married on account of the fans has gone luckily, but I want to have a look around for a little while longer.

Portrait of the Earrings
Barry HayIt is interesting to hear how the great animator of the Dutch charts thinks about the Earrings. Here is Joost's opinion:
George Kooymans - Creative driving force behind the band.
Jaap Eggermont - Excellent drummer, excellent producer
Rinus Gerritsen: - Introvert bass genius, who has become extrovert since he was in America.
Barry Hay - Showman extraordinaire, the only flutist who knows how to make aggressive music with his instrument.
At the time we are writing this it is not yet known whether the new LP will be recorded in America or The Netherlands. It is certain however that there will not only be Earrings material on it and that this LP is the run up to the bands second tour in America.
Red Bullet
George KooymansAfter a difference of opinion (highly exaggerated by the media) between Joost de Draaier and Veronica. Joost has disappeared from the pirate radio station and presently one can hear him on Hilversum III, where the VPRO is extending him hospitality. It needs no argument that this is giving Joost a good boost again. Joost works for Red Bullet a production company who sell recordings to various record companies. Joost is presently with people like Freddy Haayen and Peter Koelewijn. In this way he gets another chance to push the 'Pop' from the low countries in the right direction and especially the Earrings profit presently from Red Bullet's activities. Their tour through America is an example of this.
American interest
Rinus GerritsenJoost says: 'It goes well with the Dutch groups. What we are waiting for though is a world hit. Making records for an area of distribution the size of The Netherlands is not enough. It becomes only really interesting when Europe and America pick up your records. It can be done. Not only that our bands make excellent records, but a country like America is not at all against foreign material. Over there one produces records to make money and if one sees a possibility, than is does not matter if they have an American or foreign band on contract. If it appears that the Earrings can be money-makers in the States than there are lots of people who will help them. That's how it works.
